Longshore Hotel

Hospitality / Portland, ME

A boutique hotel that blends seaside character with contemporary comfort, offering guests a refined and memorable experience.

Longshore Hotel was designed as a refined coastal retreat that feels closely connected to Portland’s waterfront character without relying on familiar nautical clichés. The architecture balances traditional New England proportions with a more contemporary expression, using clean lines, generous glazing, and a restrained palette of wood, stone, charcoal, and warm neutral materials.

Inside, the guest experience is organized around comfort, light, and views toward the harbor. Guest rooms are calm and understated, while shared spaces—including the lobby, restaurant, and lounge—use richer textures and deeper tones to create a sense of warmth and intimacy. Large windows and outdoor terraces extend these spaces toward the water, allowing the changing light and activity of the harbor to become part of the experience.

The result is a boutique hotel that feels both distinctly local and quietly modern: a place designed to offer guests a strong sense of Portland while remaining comfortable, relaxed, and memorable.
